The Halios Laguna

The Halios Laguna is a watch that catches your eye. It stands out in a sea of diver watches (no pun intended) by perfectly balancing retro diver style and contemporary design. And with an ETA 2824-2 automatic movement, 4mm sapphire crystal and 500M water-resistance , it has all of the requisite elements of a lust-worthy luxury watch. But lust no longer, the Laguna can be yours for under $700.

Halios describes the Laguna as a “deepwater sport watch, engineered to perform through the rigors of your aquatic pursuits. Its retro aesthetic and dress details make the Laguna a versatile choice for life outside the water as well.” I think that’s an understatement. The Laguna manages to be cleanly designed, and at the same time have an immense amount of retro character and a bold appearance. It also looks good on just about every strap you can find. I’ve included a few pictures in this post from the Halios blog that I think speak to this fact. From sport to dress, the Laguna really does work in every occasion.

But the Laguna is much more than looks. Inside its unique (and beautiful) 43mm stainless steel case is an ETA 2824-2 automatic movement. The watch also features a beefy 4mm sapphire crystal, C3 Superluminova-coated hands, dial and bezel markers and an internal rotating bezel. All this muscle pushes the LAguna’s thickness to a serios 14.5mm. With purchase, the watch comes with a HALIOS bracelet, genuine Isofrane 1968 rubber strap and tools for changing straps (a really nice touch).
