On Indiegogo: The Alvieri Firenze Collection

Looking at many start-up, crowd-funded brands you’ll see a similar message behind them: the people behind the brand were looking for an affordable option of – insert watch trait here – and they were unable to find it. Therefore they set about to start their own brand with the sought after features they desired. While the message may be oft repeated there is nothing wrong with it at its core. Alvieri Watches, who is in the midst of a publicity campaign for their first watch, was started for the same ideas. The idea for Alvieri’s first watch was driven from a desire for an affordable, elegant watch suitable for daily wear. While there were offerings available, Alvieri’s founder felt they were lacking that sense of interest. That was enough for Alvieri Watches to get started via the popular method of crowd-funding.

Alvieri’s first watches, the Firenze Collection, took off via a successful Kickstarter campaign. They were able to secure $23,575, well over the $10,000 goal and now have a second round going via Indiegogo (which has already met its funding goal as well). The Firenze Collection is broken into two editions: the Firenze Classic Edition and the Firenze Lunar Edition. Both watches share the same case and dial designs with a few additions to the Lunar versions.

The Classic Edition is a two hand time only watch, with four different variations. Each of the models share the same dial design which has a raised, convex hour track over a guilloche patterned dial. The hour markers are in Roman numerals with a minute track etched into the inner ring above the hour track. The hands are the same across models with variations in color based on the dial. The options are a classic silver case with a pure white dial; rose gold PVD case with white dial; silver case and an anthracite grey dial and rose gold PVD with black dial. All the cases are 40mm in diameter with 20mm lugs and a height of 9mm. The watches do use sapphire crystals and a Ronda Swiss quartz movement Caliber 513.

The Lunar Edition shares the same traits as the Classic but adds a date window and moon phase. The date is found just above 6 oíclock while the moon window is an arc in the upper half of the dial. The different functions require a change of movement to the Ronda Swiss quartz movement Caliber 708. There are three variations available: rose gold with white or black dial and silver with a blue dial. The rest of the specs match the Classic Edition.

The Alvieri Watches Indiegogo campaign ends July 21st (2016) and with both funding goals already met the watch should have no issue meeting its August 2016 delivery deadline. Pledge amounts start at $189 (USD) for the Classic and $215 (USD) for the Lunar. There are also discounted options for more than one watch.
