Introducing the Classic Belt by worn&wound

Today, we’re excited to announce a new family of products available at shop.wornandwound.com. Until now, everything we’ve made has been a watch accessory. Straps, cases, tools, etc… they go on your watch or are used with your watch. Well, today we’re venturing out into the great big world of men’s accessories with our very first American-made belt.

This isn’t a bold leap from the world of watch straps, after all they are little belts themselves, but it’s an exciting development and we think you’re going to love them. Our first series, simply titled the Classic Belt, builds off of the Model 2 Classic watch straps. Made from exceptionally durable and no less gorgeous Wickett & Craig leathers, these belts are made to last. Based in Pennsylvania, Wickett & Craig is one of the oldest tanneries in North America, and specializes in vegetable tanning. Their leathers are all natural, tanned in a bath with a mix of barks for two weeks before being dyed, “stuffed” with waxes and processed in other all-natural ways. The resulting leather is tough and beautiful, aging exceptionally well.

For the Classic Belts, we went with a simple design that measures 1.25” wide and about 4mm thick, with edges that are burnished, beveled and waxed for a clean finish. For hardware, we went with solid brass, nickel plated rollers buckles with a brushed finish, and brushed Chicago screws to hold the buckle in place, making it easy to swap in another buckle should you choose. The aesthetic overall is understated, but rugged, just like our Model 2 Classic straps.

Naturally, for colors, we’ve matched them to the Model 2 Classics as well, coming in Amber, Black, Mahogany and Wheat. This way, you can literally match them to your strap if you desire, or just find the color you are looking for.

Amber

A striking medium-brown, Amber is an oiled Latigo that has a strong pull-up effect, revealing oranges and golds that emanate from within. This leather ages wonderfully, getting darker in areas and marbling with color.

Black

Deep, dark and matte describes this Black oiled Latigo leather to a T. This leather has been drum-dyed (turned in a giant barrel) multiple times, penetrating the black pigment all the way though the leather. This makes the edges and interior of the sizing holes naturally black.

Mahogany

Mahogany is our dark brown, but it’s no ordinary dark brown. Also an oiled Latigo, it features a strong pull-up effect that brings dark reds to the surface, adding tons of character to this wardrobe staple.

Wheat

Perhaps the most exotic of our four colors, this bright, golden tan is a rugged skirting leather that will darken and patina with wear. These take on a lot of character as they age, picking up colors from jeans as well as naturally tanning from the sun and elements.

Our Classic Belt will initially be available in 32in, 34in, 36in and 38in lengths, measured to their center sizing hole. In order to determine the best size for you, we recommend measuring your favorite belt from the end of the leather at the buckle, to the sizing hole you typically wear it on. The Classic Belts are available now and will ship next week for $85 at shop.wornandwound.com
