Recap: Windup Watch Fair NYC 2019 (Video and Gallery)

And just like that, the 2019 edition of Windup NYC has come and gone. Over three exciting days in Chelsea Market, watch fans from near and far gathered to get their hands on some of the latest and greatest timepieces in independent watchmaking, and to meet the men and women behind the brands. It was a great turn out, with lots of great watches, and fun was had by all. As always, we want to thank our lead sponsor Oris for their continuous support of the Windup event series, as well as our featured sponsors Christopher Ward, StockX, Watches of Switzerland, Yema and Zodiac

And, of course, we want to thank the readers, watch-heads, and fans of all stripes for showing up and braving the crowds to hang out with us over Windup weekend. The line out the door that many waited in throughout the three day fair is a testament to the dedication and enthusiasm of this community. Even though it goes without saying, we’ll say it anyway: without all of you, this kind of event would not be possible or worth doing. We hope you had as great a time as we did.

We also want to thank the dozens of brands who participated in Windup this year. It was truly impressive to see the incredible variety of noteworthy products on display at the fair – it’s completely unlike any other watch event that we know of.

Stay tuned for updates on future Windup events, and be sure to check out the official Windup Watch Fair website here. Until then, enjoy the Windup NYC recap video as well as some of our favorite photos from the most recent fair.

Zach is a native of New Hampshire, and he has been interested in watches since the age of 13, when he walked into Macy’s and bought a gaudy, quartz, two-tone Citizen chronograph with his hard earned Bar Mitzvah money. It was lost in a move years ago, but he continues to hunt for a similar piece on eBay. Zach loves a wide variety of watches, but leans toward classic designs and proportions that have stood the test of time. He is currently obsessed with Grand Seiko.
