eBay Finds: A Colorful NOS Swatch, a Classic Omega, and a Military Issued CWC

eBay Finds is back! This bi-monthly installment will feature a selection of watches currently listed on eBay that have caught the eye of editor Christoph McNeil (@vintagediver). If you come across any hidden gems on the ‘Bay drop us a note at [email protected] for potential inclusion!

Vintage Omega Constellation

Vintage Omega Constellations are highly sought after, especially the classic pie-pan dial with dog leg lugs like this sweet 1966 example. The steel case is in great shape, even though it’s likely felt the touch of a polishing wheel. The dog leg lugs still show their chamfers and the observatory medallion on the back is nice and clear. The silver pie-pan dial looks original and is in excellent condition. The caliber 561 Chronometer movement is clean and runs well per the seller. It comes on an original Omega beads of rice bracelet, but I don’t think it is original to this watch. Overall very clean example of a very desirable vintage Omega.

Squale Sigel Diver

Next up is a rare vintage Squale Medium diver. This example is a Squale Sigel, with black dial and two-tone acrylic bezel insert. This Medium Squale case is 34mm wide, with a slightly asymmetrical shape. The case shows some honest wear, but nothing bad. The black dial has some patina on the lume and hands, as well as on the two-tone acrylic bezel insert. That said, vintage Squale divers are hard to find and always in demand by collectors. This one even has the correct ‘Von’ signed crown. Great entry level vintage Squale diver.

New Old Stock Vintage Swatch

How about some great 80’s nostalgia? Here we have a sweet vintage 1989 Swatch with wild 80’s colors and design. The bold dial is black with pink, green and yellow highlights, with a pinkish red original strap. This one comes with its original box and papers, with the original price sticker from Nordstom still attached. New old stock, never been worn per the seller, and it has a new battery installed and runs well. Can’t beat a NOS vintage Swatch in the box!

Vintage Zodiac Sea Wolf

These early gen no-date Zodiac SeaWolfs are really becoming scarce. Most of the ones you find on eBay these days are either the date model, or the later ones with the acrylic bezel insert. Now, both of those are fine watches, but to me, no date is the best date, and you can see by the beautiful symmetry of the dial why I say that. These came in both black and white dials, and of course this is the white dial version. It’s in really nice shape, with beautiful lume on the 12, 3, 6, 9 triangle indices and those big ol’ arrow hands. The case looks unpolished, and the watch has its original signed crown as it should. The chrome plated bezel is in decent condition, but showing some wear on the edge from use. Seller states it runs, but the bezel is missing the little spring wire that keeps it firm. So, do keep in mind that the bezel needs some attention, but that said these are such a rare find in good looking condition that I had to share it with our readers.

Seiko 6139-6019 Chronograph

Next up is one of Seiko’s more beautiful chronographs, the 6139-6019. Nice large steel case with original brushed finish with sharp edges and broad flat bezel, and that deep blue dial…wow! Classic Seiko dial layout with the 30 min register at 6 o’clock and the day/date window at 3 o’clock. This watch features the same movement used in the more famous “Pogue” models (6139-600X, etc), which is a wonderfully robust and reliable chronograph movement. This should come on a Seiko bracelet, but as the vintage bracelets were all folded steel, it’s quite common to find them missing. However, this gem will look great on any strap or repro bracelet you desire. Great vintage Seiko chronograph that should go for much less than its more famous Pogue relatives.

Military Issued CWC Royal Navy Diver

Last up, a killer vintage (yes, 1999 is vintage!) CWC military issued diver. This 1999 Royal Navy Diver model 0555/6645-99 was issued by the British Ministry of Defense to their Navy, and you can see by the caseback markings this one is legit. The watch has seen some use, as it should being an issued diver, but does not appear abused. There is some wear to the case and bezel, but overall the watch looks great. Seller states it comes with the correct Phoenix NATO strap, which is a nice touch. The watch is powered by a quartz movement and runs per the seller. Great grab and go diver that has a storied history!
