Visiting Citizen in Japan, and a New Horological Machine from MB&F

This week on the Worn & Wound podcast, Zach welcomes Cait Bazemore to talk about her recent trip to Japan with Citizen to check out their Eco-Drive manufacturing facilities. Citizen is celebrating the 50th anniversary of Eco-Drive this year, so they took the rare step to open up their headquarters in Japan to media in celebration of the big event. In this conversation, Cait talks about what made this trip unique, setting it apart from the usual watch media press trip experience.

Today also marks the release of a new Horological Machine from MB&F, and Cait also had the opportunity to speak with MB&F designer Max Maertens about his latest creation for the brand ahead of its release. The HM12 “Guardian” is one of MB&F’s biggest swings to date (literally, it’s a very large robot…) and there’s a lot to unpack, so Zach and Cait spend some time talking about where this release fits in with the MB&F collection and their initial impressions of it after seeing it in person.
