Introducing Four Limited Edition U1 Divers (and a New Bracelet) from Unimatic

Fans of Unimatic’s U1 watches tend to be rabid ones, and these four new limited edition U1s from the beloved Italian brand are guaranteed to get folks foaming at the mouth. Unimatic is also releasing a new stainless bracelet that will work with the Unimatic Modello Uno references.

U1-E — 525€ (~$610)

Elemental, sharp, nearly indestructible, and limited to just 600 units, the U1-E is a 40-millimeter watch with a bezel overhang of .75 millimeters. The bezel insert is a flat sapphire unit with Super-LumiNova BGW9 that will show as pure white by day and bright blue by night. It’ll click counterclockwise 120 times per rotation.

The case is fully brushed 316L stainless steel, and holds a signature minimalist shape that compliments the utilitarian dial. Water resistance is 300 meters, thanks to the 2.5-millimeter double-domed, anti-reflective sapphire crystal and solid steel case back—which includes a very cool and complex engraving of a conversion scale as well as individual serial numbers. The screwed in crown is so robustly guarded that it’s hard to imagine being able to hurt it above or below water.

The movement is the well-proven Seiko NH35A, which will provide seconds hacking, bi-directional winding, and a rate of 21,600 bph.

U1-EN — 625€ (~$725)

This is essentially a stealthy version of the U1-E, so the specs and equipment are identical to those listed above. This model is limited to just 300 pieces, and is distinguished from its brother by sporting black DLC-coated brushed steel throughout. Both the U1-E and the U1-EN ship on Unimatic’s signature “V” woven mil-strap, with hardware that matches the cases respectively. These will ship with an additional black Unimatic silicone strap.

U1-EM — 525€ (~$610)

Now we’re getting deeper into Unimatic’s signature stealth aesthetic. Again, same specs and gear as above, but the bezel is blank but for the lume pip, the markers are outlines, and the date aperture is gone. The closed seconds track is in anthracite, which, along with the Super-LumiNova C1 in white, makes the U1-EM compellingly monochromatic. The U1-EM ships on a shell cordovan leather two-piece strap and includes an additional Unimatic flouroelastomer mil-strap.

U1-EMN — 625€ (~$725)

This edition of 200 is identical to the U1-EM above but is blacked out for an ultra-stealthy, yet eye-popping, composition.

All four of these limited edition Unimatics U1s will ship in a handsome black box with an authenticity card, manual, and cleaning cloth.

UBK-18 Bracelet — 150€ (~$175)

If you’ve got a Unimatic Modello Uno, then you’re going to be pretty stoked about this newly released solid stainless steel bracelet. With a signed folding clasp that includes a convenient diver extension for micro-adjustments over a wet suit—or perhaps just to accommodate lending it to a thick-wristed friend. The bracelet ships in a travel pouch than can hold two watches and a strap-changing tool.

Because people love them so much, Unimatic’s offerings tend to sell out, so those interested in the smaller runs might consider moving quickly to snatch one up. Unimatic
