To be clear, the Polerouter is not a single distinct model, but rather a family of watches that began in 1954 and ended around 1969 (with a brief yet uninspired return in the ‘80s). In this article, we dive into that lineage and take a closer look at a later, little-known variant—the Polerouter Super.

The Verge – Google Just Spent $40 Million for Fossil’s Secret Smartwatch Tech

Earlier this week, Google and Fossil Group announced that the two have inked a $40-million deal for the former to acquire a good chunk of Fossil’s proprietary smartwatch tech. Included in that deal is the R&D team directly involved in the development of Fossil’s wearable tech—tech that, ironically, Fossil itself had acquired when it bought the wearable brand Misfit back in 2015. It’s not clear exactly what application Google sees in Fossil’s tech, but we could be seeing some new applications for Fossil’s hybrid smartwatch tech in the future.
