In episode 11 of The worn&wound Podcast, we sit down with Jonathan Ferrer of Brew Watc Co., a brand that long-time readers of worn&wound are sure to know quite well. Founded in 2015, Brew began as a company inspired by a rather abstract concept. The idea, on paper anyway, was to distill the subtle pleasures of a coffee break into a collection of watches.

Now, this could have gone two ways. The first–and wrong–way would have been to take this prompt literally. Imagine screen-printed beans on the dial. Yikes. The second way–and this was Brew’s approach–was to correctly pull inspiration from the mood of a coffee house–metal espresso machines, warm tonalities, etc. Unsurprisingly, the resulting watches stand on their own, and many happy customers seem to think so, tooIn addition to talking about John’s brand and how he runs it as a one-man shop, we also discuss our collaboration with Brew on the HP-1 Limited Edition, which we announced a few weeks back. And we answer a listener question about the never-ending debate over watch sizing. Enjoy the show!
