Girard Perregaux Minimalist Automatic
First up this week is this sweet vintage Girard Perregaux dress watch. Like the seller says, it looks to be New Old Stock, complete with the original sticker on the back as well as the original hang tag. The case is 35mm wide, not including the crown, which appears to be signed with the GP logo. The case looks like steel, but the hang tag says steel and chrome, so I’m guessing the back is steel and the case is chrome plated. That said, it’s in perfect shape with no visible pitting. The silver dial has a nice vertical brushed finish with applied gold markers and gold hands, and a sub-seconds dial at 6 o’clock. Seller states the watch runs well. Great looking and understated dress watch.
Vintage Rado Las Palmas
Here is a really cool looking vintage Rado Las Palmas. Rado has made a lot of great models, and I’ve never seen or even heard of the Las Palmas. The steel case has a solid, 1970’s look, with a polished finish. The silver dial also screams 70’s, with the vertical brushed finish and large, applied steel markers. Of course, the dial also has the Rado spinning anchor logo at 12 o’clock. The caseback has a deeply engraved Rado ‘Water Sealed’ medallion on it, and the crown is signed too. The movement is clean and the seller states it runs well. Great, chunky and funky piece that has lots of vintage panache.
Seiko Lord Matic 5606-7050
Next up is a vintage 1969 Seiko LM (Lord Matic) 5606-7050. This LM is a great piece, with loads of style. The gray crosshair dial has applied steel markers, a date window at 3 o’clock and a subtle day window at 9 o’clock just below an applied steel Seiko logo. The squarish case is a beauty, with a brushed finish and sharp edges. It comes with the original bracelet which is a kind of skinny beads of rice style. This case is a front loading type so there is no picture of the movement. Seller states the watch runs and day/date functions properly. This is a solid piece that should not break the bank.
Bulova Computron
Vintage LED time! The stunning and iconic Bulova Computron is the epitome of an LED watch. The block style gold plated case has a nifty cross hatched texture. The watch comes with the original bracelet. This beauty also comes complete with the original plastic box as well as the hangtag and price tag ($180!). The watch works, and does not appear to be missing any LED elements. The seller does state that the screen glass has a scratch and/or crack, but I can’t really see it in the pictures so it seems it’s not that distracting. The Computron is an absolute classic, and one that Bulova has released as a Heritage model. Here’s your chance to grab the original!
Vintage Longines
You want something different? Check out this vintage Longines! The TV shaped, 32mm wide case is gold plated, and looks to be in great shape. The silver dial is clean and simple, with thin stick hands. The integrated bracelet has a linen texture finish and the buckle is signed with the Longines logo. This is a unique looking piece that has a style all its own. It’s definitely on the small side, but if that fits your style then this could be a good pick up for someone with a smaller wrist or even for the ladies. No movement picture but the seller states the watch runs well.
1968 Omega Speedmaster
Finishing up this week with a big boy watch, a vintage 1968 Omega Speedmaster 145022-68 ST. This is a pre-moon model, with the vaunted Omega caliber 321 manual wind chronograph movement. The Speedmaster needs no introduction, and is a watch that is easily one of the most iconic timepieces ever made. The earlier pre-moon models are particularly sought-after. This example looks to be in excellent condition, with an unpolished case and a dial that is really nice. The watch has lots of dirt/wrist funk on it which I find to be a good sign with a vintage watch. The tachymeter bezel is in good shape, and the watch has the original signed crown. The seller removed the back but not the movement cover so you can’t see the cal 321 movement. This watch looks correct and original to me, so if you’re wanting a vintage Speedmaster, give this one a close look.
