Introducing the Ball Engineer III King, Now Available at a Special Pre-Order Price

Earlier this year, we wrote about the re-imagined BALL Engineer Master II Voyager. And before that, we introduced the Engineer III Bronze/Silver Star. Both of those watches were offered by the brand at a special pre-order price, rewarding early customers with a value-driven package. It’s an approach that seems to have paid off for the brand, so BALL is back once again with a similar proposition—introducing the Engineer III King.Ball Engineer III King - 5As they did with previous models, BALL is offering the Engineer III King in two sizes—40 and 43mm. The case comes packed with some of BALL’s movement-protecting technologies. There’s BALL’s patented Amortiser anti-shock system, which is essentially a lock that prevents the rotor from damaging the movement in the event of a shock. BALL has also developed a new, patented crown system dubbed DuraLOCK that should, according to BALL, provide greater protection against failure at the crown. The Engineer III King is anti-magnetic to 80K A/m.

Both versions are available in either stainless steel or stainless steel with a black titanium carbide coating. You also have the option of either a leather band or a stainless steel bracelet, the latter of which is only available on the stainless steel model. For an extra $65, you can also get a BALL mil-strap.

The Engineer III King is available with either a black or blue dial. The dial features BALL’s newly designed micro tritium gas tubes measuring just 0.3mm x 2mm (BALL first introduced these in the Engineer Master II Voyager). At the “12” and “6, ” you have BALL’s classic 1mm tritium tubes. At three is a day/date aperture. The dial sits below a sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating.

This promotion will run though April 12, 2017, at which point the full retail price will kick in at $1,950. Watches are expected to ship between July and August, 2017.
