Today we’re excited to introduce you to our new Managing Editor, Blake Buettner. A veteran of the watch world, he brings with him years of experience and a wealth of knowledge. We’ve known and worked with Blake for a long time, and many of you are likely familiar with his work, so it was very exciting that this opportunity came at the right moment for us to bring him on board. Worn & Wound has grown quite a bit in the past several years and we have no plans on slowing down. We have the utmost faith that he is going to do an excellent job of leading Worn & Wound’s editorial efforts as we continue to grow and expand our site, content, and team.

Hello readers, my name is Blake Buettner (the ‘u’ is silent, I swear), and I’m excited to be a part of your community as the new Managing Editor here at Worn & Wound. I’ve been covering the watch industry, its people, its products, and its stories for the past decade. In that time, I’ve had the pleasure of working with some world-class outfits like HODINKEE, Gear Patrol, and StockX. This is a space I have a passion and curiosity for, based on the way watches fit into, and at times shape our personal lives, past and present.
Today, watches are more luxury than tool, and are most certainly not necessary components of our everyday lives. Perspective is important, especially in 2020, and as we work to overcome some very real issues, the watch on our wrist feels rather insignificant. And it is. But that doesn’t mean we can’t turn to it for a source of joy, a small respite from the stresses of everyday life, and most importantly, something that bonds many of us the world over. At Worn & Wound, I look forward to celebrating that bond alongside each of you, hopefully bringing a sense of levity to our arguments over date windows and PCLs.
