We’ve seen a lot of interesting dial textures this year already (from Seiko to Zenith), and Sinn is bringing their own spin on the trend with the new limited edition U1 DS. We’ve seen a variety of limited edition colorways appear on the U1, from blue to camo, and the DS seen here takes a new direction thanks to the dial that’s been ground to achieve a pattern that will be unique to each of the 500 examples produced. The U1 is, in many ways, the ultimate tool watch and the dial feels right at home in these digs.
Introducing the Limited Edition Sinn U1 DS
The U1 DS is being offered in combination with your choice of black or white rubber strap, as well as the traditional H link bracelet offered on the regular production model. The bezel uses Sinn’s TEGIMENT Technology for scratch resistance, and the case itself, which is made from German submarine steel, meets all the DIN standards we’ve come to expect from the U1 (8309, 8310, and 8306). That is to say, it’ll hang with you in even the most extreme of activities, from drinking Mt. Dew on the couch, to crushing those 1,000 meter dives you get in on the weekends.
Inside, you’ll find the Sellita SW 200 providing the time and date dial side. The U1 DS is a robust watch, with the same dimensions as the regular U1, meaning 44mm in diameter and 14.7mm in thickness, with a 22mm lug span. Along with the impressive specs this affords the watch, in this case it provides a broad surface area for the grinding technique used on the dial.
The Sinn U1 DS is limited to 500 numbered units, and is priced from $2,780 on strap, and $2,850 on the bracelet. More from Sinn here.
