Earlier this week we announced that we’ll be hosting two live events in NYC leading up to our Windup Watch Fair and today we’re excited to share some additional details. As a reminder, the Windup Watch Fair will be hosted at Chelsea Market, November 2 – 4.
Tuesday, October 30 – Panel Discussion
On Tuesday, October 30th, StockX will be hosting a panel discussion on buying, selling, and collecting watches in 2018 and how new media, marketing, and marketplaces are changing the watch industry. We’re excited to announce that we’ll be joined by some very special guests. In addition to members of StockX and Worn & Wound, we’ll be joined by VJ Geronimo, CEO North America at Oris Watches USA, and Kathleen McGivney, CEO of Redbar Group. Click here to RSVP.
From the StockX team, we’ll be joined by David Lee, General Manager of Watches, and Blake Buettner, Director of Watches. David brings over 10 years of experience in watch and luxury goods retail, while Blake has served in various journalistic and marketing functions within the watch industry for nearly a decade. Representing Worn & Wound will be Blake Malin, one of the company’s co-founders who is responsible for managing and growing the Windup Watch Fair.
As most of you know, Oris is a 115-year-old staple of independent, Swiss-made watches that is one of the most popular brands among those we cover on Worn & Wound. From their innovative work with in-house movement manufacture to their wildly popular Divers Sixty-Five models, Oris has maintained a very strong collection of watches at various price points and styles. As CEO of North America at Oris Watches USA, VJ brings a unique and invaluable perspective to any discussion of the watch industry.
RedBar Group has quickly established itself as the leading international collective of watch collectors and enthusiasts with chapters in communities throughout the globe, from New York to London. As CEO, Kathleen has overseen all aspects of RedBar’s growth to an internationally recognized brand. We’re excited to hear Kathleen’s insight into the power of community building, among other topics.
We’ll be taking questions live from the audience as well, so you don’t want to miss it. Entrance is free and space is limited, so RSVP today.
Wednesday, October 31 – Live Podcast
On Wednesday, October 31, we’re also hosting the first ever live recording of the Worn & Wound podcast. Zach, Ilya, and Allen will be there to discuss some timely topics and, most importantly, take your questions. Again, this event is free and space is limited, so RSVP here today. For those of you outside of NYC that can’t make the event, we want to hear your questions. To submit a question for the live podcast, email [email protected] or submit your questions via Instagram. Naturally, we’ll be recording the live podcast and sharing it via our usual podcast stream.
October 29–31 – Windup Watch Shop Pop-Up
Lastly, for those of you in NYC on from Monday, October 29 through Wednesday, October 31, be sure to come by Chelsea Market to check out our Windup Watch Shop pop-up. We’ll have watches available for sale from the brands that we carry, as well as a full selection of our watch accessories.
