Online Luxury Watch Retailer Montredo Collaborates With Squale For A Limited Run Of Their 1521 Diver

Despite the new and refined look, the Squale x Montredo 1521 is no slouch. The tough diver still retains the rugged traits we’ve come to expect with the Squale 1521 diver. The 42mm stainless steel case boasts a water resistance up to 500 meters and a recessed screwdown crown at four o’clock preventing the crown from snagging on loose articles of clothing and assuring a more comfortable wearing experience on wrist. The Squale x Montredo 1521 is also equipped with a protective sapphire crystal, a non-slip uni-directional bezel and the reliable Sellita SW200-1 automatic movement for accurate time keeping under any tough condition.

The changes are subtle on the Squale Montredo 1521, but very much noticeable when compared to the traditional Squale 1521. The Squale Montredo 1521 displays a minimal black bezel layout with white numerals marking every 15 seconds and a compact dot every 5 seconds. The handset that the Montredo 1521 sports is unique to the limited edition, with a thicker and bold orange hand, as well as a lollipop seconds hand that replaces the traditional blocky seconds hand found on the traditional model.

The Squale x Montredo 1521 dial loses the date window and combines the circular and rectangular hour markers only found on the time and date 1521 models making for a clean, simple and symmetrical dial. Looking closer at the photos, the dial is a matte black and has a soft grainy texture. I’m a sucker for any subtle use of color on a black dial, so the “50 Atmos” in orange is a welcomed touch that is unique to the Squale x Montredo 1521 LE.

The Squale x Montredo 1521 will be delivered on a vintage inspired tropic rubber strap, but if that doesn’t suit you, finding a strap, whether it be a NATO or do I dare say, a leather strap should be a breeze as the lug width is a standard 20mm.
