The Islander ISL-200 Bethpage features a brushed silver dial, with contrasting subdials. Operating the chronograph is a breeze – press the top plunger to activate the chronograph, press again to stop, and the bottom button will reset it. Elapsed seconds are counted at the 6:00 position, while a 60-minute elapsed subdial is at the 9:00 position; perfect for timing sub-orbital burns, or your pasta. At the 3:00 position, you will find a 24-hour indicator – designed it in such a way that the top half is daylight hours (silver) and the bottom half is dark. It’s a small addition that makes quite an impact when viewing the watch.
The chapter ring of the dial is done in contrasting black, with red hash marks to match the accent color of the subdial hands, and the Amerigraph text. Applied silver indices are generously filled with C3 Super-LumiNova to allow for easy night viewing. The fixed bezel is black ceramic, lumed with C3, and marked in military time to keep with the theme of the watch. The polished silver hands remain easy to read against the dial. The crystal is domed sapphire with AR coating on the underside.
The case is beautifully finished in a combination of brushed and polished surfaces. It catches the light brilliantly as you move your wrist around. The crown is push-pull and embossed with the Islander logo.
