QUICK RELEASE IN PARTNERSHIP WITH VERO

Watch the Short Film “Katabatic Flight” Presented by VERO Watch Company

Last Friday, April 28th, on the opening day of the Windup Watch Fair in San Francisco, VERO Watch Company premiered the short film Katabatic Flight. It was followed a live acoustic set by the film’s director Matt Costa, who also scored the movie. The film digs into the motivations and mindset of pilot Matthew James Hetherington. In the past, Matt was an Olympic field hockey coach, traveling the world. The film focuses on his current self drive to explore, improve himself and help others.

Throughout the film, you catch multiple glimpses of VERO’s new Meridian Manual Wind Series. It’s a 36mm weekender watch with a custom decorated Sellita SW-210-01 mechanical movement, an articulated stainless steel bracelet, and a leather strap fully assembled and regulated in their shop in Portland, Oregon.

This film premiere and performance was a first for the Windup Watch Fair. It marks a new chapter for the types of events and activations that brands can bring to Windup and how they can engage with the audience there. The premiere, coupled with a happy hour sponsored by VERO brought together enthusiasts of not just watches, but of adventure, film, music, and gear as well.
