If you’re looking for a vintage-styled chronograph with an authentic look, it’s best to go to a brand that was actually around back then. Yema, founded in 1948, was not only around at the time, but an innovator, creating some of the most unique and stylish chronographs to come out of the period. And they didn’t just look good, they were also worn by drivers on the track, famously adorning the wrist of Mario Andretti during his iconic Indy 500 win.
The new Rallygraf Meca-Quartz is a tasteful tribute to this era in an affordable package. With a 39mm case, massive domed crystal, and external tachymeter bezel, the Rallygraf has all of the trappings of vintage-style. What makes it distinctly Yema, however, is the gorgeous dial. A sandwich construction, the dial features two large exotic sub-dials that scream the 60’s, with applied markers around the edge. For a unique, bold and exciting watch, look no further.
The Rallygraf Meca-Quartz is powered by the Seiko VK64 Meca-Quartz Chronograph caliber. This Japanese-made hybrid movement mixes a mechanical chronograph mechanism with quartz time regulation, for the best of both worlds. The chronograph center-hand sweeps at 1/5th second intervals for smooth motion and all hands instantly reset. Additionally you’ll find a 60-minute totalizer at the nine position and a 24-hour hand at three. Battery life is approximately 36 months.
