My choice is the Citizen NY2300 automatic on a Zulu or NATO strap for security (so it doesn’t end up at the bottom of the lake if a spring bar fails). The 200 meters WR eliminates concerns about taking an unplanned dip, and the large hands and dial markers are super legible with great lume. The small, rounded profile means I’m not banging it on the side of the boat as I paddle, and the rugged Miyota 8205 is a tried-and-true, reliable mechanical movement that can be hand wound.
