Introducing the Autodromo x Worn & Wound Group B

Today, we’re thrilled to announce our fourth watch collaboration: The Autodromo x Worn & Wound Group B. Inspired by the brutal, but innovative Group B rally cars of the ’80s, the Autodromo features sharp lines, hard facets, technical detailing, a combined steel and titanium construction and contrasting colors that speak to the futurist visions of Giugiaro and Mead. It’s one of the most unique lines of watches to have come out in the last several years, so we’re beyond excited to have been able to work with Bradley Price, the founder and creative mastermind behind Autodromo, on a Worn & Wound exclusive version.

Part of the brilliance of the Group B design is the super thin, light weight, modular case construction. Measuring 39 x 50.9 x 10mm, the Group B features a titanium pod that holds the dial and movement, which is shrouded in a steel chassis. For the Worn & Wound edition, we took the brushed chassis and coated it in gun metal PVD. Not black, and not the gray of titanium, it’s a warm dark color that adds to the watch’s already fierce demeanor. To complement and contrast the gun metal chassis, we went with a black dial with hot red markers and hands.

A signature of the Group B design is its spring bar-free case, working with 20mm pass through straps. For the Worn & Wound edition, we created a new leather strap specifically to work with this design, the first leather strap to come with a Group B. We took our American-made Single Pass design, split it down and backed it with durable lining leather, making it thin enough to easily slip through the Group B’s slots, but strong enough to last and feel great. In keeping with the new palette, we went with our matte, dark gray Coal leather and black backing. The result is striking and looks great on the wrist.

The Autodromo x Worn & Wound Group B is powered by the venerable Miyota 9015 movement and comes with 1 x nylon strap, 1 x W & W leather strap, 1 x W & W Microfiber cloth, all packed in a custom aluminum box with unique serial. They are available now at shop.wornandwound.com for $975 in limited quantities.

Additionally, they will be on display at Wind^Up 2017, which starts this Friday, the 27th and runs through Sunday the 29th in Chelsea Market, NYC. For full details on the show, check out windup.wornandwound.com
