Seiko 5 Sports 6119-6400 Day Date

Starting off this week with a sweet vintage Seiko 5 Sports diver. This one is really cool, with a round, UFO style steel case that has a simple black external bezel but an internal rotating elapsed time bezel. The black dial is clean with lume filled steel baton hour markers. The correct crown is recessed at 4 o’clock which gives it a clean look. The Hardlex crystal has some scratches, but you can find replacements with a little eBay searching. These models are usually beaten to a pulp, but this one is about as clean as you’ll find. The bracelet isn’t original unfortunately, but the watch is still on point.

Vintage Bulova

Here we have a gorgeous vintage Bulova dress watch. This beauty is from 1950, and the fancy “knotted” lugs are the hero for sure. The 29mm case is in pretty good shape, with little wearthrough on the 10k gold plate case. The two-tone silver dial looks to be original and has only a light, even patina which looks fantastic. Gold dauphine hands round out the look. The Bulova caliber 10BC manual wind movement is clean and the seller states it runs well. Really an amazing and stylish Mid-Century Mod Bulova dress watch.

Vintage Omega

Here’s another great vintage gold plate dress watch, this time an Omega Seamaster 30. Beautiful clean silver dial with simple stick hands and a sub-seconds dial at 6 o’clock. The narrow lugs have nice sharp chamfers. The 34mm gold plate case is sharp and unpolished, with a steel snap-on back that has the Omega Hippocampus logo on it. The rose colored Omega caliber 269 manual wind movement is clean and runs well per the seller. No picture of the crown so I can’t see if it’s signed or not, but otherwise this is a shaaaaarp piece!

Vintage Swatch Kailua Diver

Here’s a fun one for you 80’s fans, a vintage 1988 Swatch Kailua “Diver”. I mean, who doesn’t fondly remember Swatch watches? And of course, they still make them, but vintage is always better than new. This one has a day-glo (glow in the dark??) dial that has a Rolex Submariner style hour marker arrangement. The strap is a new aftermarket, but it looks like the old style ones. Seller states the watch is running fine. Great fun piece to bring back the 80’s!

Seiko Bell Matic

I just love alarm watches, and I think the Seiko Bell Matic has to be my favorite. This model is a classic, the 4006-7060 from 1968. Nice chunky (but not too big) steel case with bold lugs, and a charcoal dial that really stands out. The case on this example looks to have been polished at some time, but not overly so. The dial and hands are clean, and the watch comes on a Seiko beads of rice bracelet that I’m fairly certain is not original to the watch, but nevertheless it looks sharp and you can never go wrong with a beads of rice! Seller states the watch runs and works well.

Bulova Automatic

Finishing up with a really neat vintage Bulova that is a model I haven’t seen before! The 34mm steel case is unpolished, with amazing bombe lugs that you never see on a Bulova. The caseback has a deeply engraved Bulova “Dancing Lady” medallion that is super cool. The silver dial is unblemished and has nice applied steel markers and steel dauphine hands, with a date window at 3 o’clock. The acrylic crystal has a date magnifier window and has a few light scratches, nothing a quick polish won’t fix up. The crown is singed, as is the bracelet. I’m not sure the bracelet is original, but it is for sure from the same era. Great vintage Bulova with loads of presence.
