Great looking watch! Orient is one of those sleeper brands that that general population just doesn’t get – but they’re incredible value and are some of my favorite watches. Their designs are top notch, and of course you can’t be an in-house Japanese movement. Would love to own this!

The day indicator for this style of watch is pretty interesting. I’d like to see this on a grey suede strap.
Another interesting watch from Orient. It does have a similar feel to my Seiko 5 SNK only a little bigger (good!) and with a unique and different spin on the day and GMT indicators.
If I win the toughest part will be picking between your rye and crimson strap for it.

Love Orient. Personally think it is the best value I’ve found. As I’m in the US, I generally have to purchase Orient watches online. We all know the watches can look much different in person, but I’ve never opened an orient and been anything but impressed for the money.

Scrolling down to post with an iPad takes some devotion! I love my Orient Star Classic, have been wearing all week on vacation in Tuscany. This one also looks great.

I’ve always preferred to buy watches from companies who make their own movements. But usually they are very exclusive/expensive. Orient is one of these companies, but with very reasonable prices. The Orient Defender looks great and I would consider buying one if I don’t win it.

Orient watches are a terrific value, well made, have the distinction of in house movements, and the defender is a great addition to their line! Looks great with the day and 24 hr dials! Hacking would definitely be a plus, but you can usually back pressure the movement to the same effect. This would be a great addition to my collection…which NATO to put it on would be thethe hard part!
I own several Orient watches and I can say definitely they represent some of the best values in under $1,000 watches and this watch is a great example.
