Wornandwound is easily the best website for affordable watches. Great looking website which provides in-depth reviews. Unlike other websites which focus mainly on incredibly expensive watches. It’s not that I don’t appreciate these expensive watches. It’s just so hard to find a website that provide articles and reviews about micro yet great brands. This is not a comment which is subjected to win the watch. This is truly a compliment for my favourite awesome website. (Well, if I win the watch I would be happy to accept it :p)

Great looking second hand
This watch to me exemplifies so much that is “right” about the, what I call, “boutique” watch world. That Melbourne Watch can produce such an attractive watch at such a terrific price is almost incomprehensible. When I look at some of the watches from the “hoity-toity” watch companies, they seem so fussy and in many cases just downright ugly ! I love the simplicity of the Flinders, it just looks right. Thanks for bringing it to my attention – I will definitely look more closing at the watch and the company.

Suj was recently kind enough to lend me both of the Flinders’ for a local GTG. I’m not a dress watch person in general but this is one that I could use in my collection. I can say from experience that these are very well made watches and I’d highly recommend them.

Ahhh the Flinders in it’s awesomeness. Brings back memories of not so long ago when I spent countless nights trying to decide between this and the Gavox Legacy Navy. I see now it’s come back to haunt me (banging head on desk).
Usually not a fan of white / off-white dials, but the variations in texture really make it beautiful.

An interesting watch from Australia, about time some of the Ozzies started making timepieces. It looks quite nice and dressy, would look forward to hopefully winning this and giving this brand a go. i love the clean design of this watch, the leather strap is definitely nice.
Great to see an Australian watch company making such great looking timepieces. The Flinders is, in my opinion, very stylish, classic watch. I really like the case, white dial and also the detailed second hand. The Hawthorn by the same company also looks like a great watch.

Having lived in Melbourne for most of my life I just love the city. Having never seen this watch before I just love it as it brings back so many memories. This model called Flinders I assume represents Flinders Street train station. An iconic building – elegant and timeless design in a very similar vain to the watch! Having spent many years travelling to and from this station the one thing needed was a good watch as the trains never ran on time!

I was pleasantly surprised by the finish on this when I first saw the review, would make a nice addition to my work attire.
Over the last three years, almost every week or two I took the train from the eastern suburbs to Flinders St station and then change to Melbourne Central. It’s a routine since I have to consult the progress of my work with my research supervisor whose office is in Melbourne CBD. Since I will be leaving OZ for good in the next couple of months, this watch will be a perfect memento for my happy times in Melbourne. I got married yesterday, and I was wearing a new Oris Hand Winder. Why do I need a free watch if I can afford one of these? The Oris is to become my special occasion watch that will be handed down to my son when I go. Family heirlooms have to start somewhere don’t they?
I don’t have a day to day automatic, and this watch will do just the job, and make a brilliant wedding present.
I’ve only recently found the site after googling reviews for my wedding watch but WornandWound has introduced me to so many fantastic watch brands that I never knew existed.
In time I’d love to buy a Stowa Antea KS and a Zeppelin LZ129 but the Flinders would do just nicely. I’m a sucker for a brown watch strap.

I’m really liking the recent upswell of quality microbrands. MWC, L&H, Aevig, Halios… All are pushing the boundaries of reasonably priced watches that offer great value.
Been keeping a very close eye on Suj’s (owner of MWC) company, mainly over on WUS. So far, all the designs he’s been pushing out have been quite cool in the dressy-end of the spectrum. And their next model – Portsea – will (imo) knock the socks off of many unsuspecting competitors.

A beautiful 3-hand classic style automatic. I like everything I read from W&W about Melbourne Watch Co. I wish them all the success. The finish on the Flinders case is exquisite, the attention to detail on the dial magnificent. The M initial on the sweep seconds really nice indicator. This watch will go well from the boardroom to the beach.

One previously unmentioned benefit to such a watch is that should the need arise, the seconds hand can be used as a tactical grappling hook for the more resourceful of mice. They will however, need to obtain a tactical grade lanyard/cord for the ascent on their own. But that’s where the real training will be accomplished.
