Holiday Product Highlight: For the Student/Young Professional

When thinking about finding gifts for people in your life, sometimes it’s good to think about what kind of person they are and where are they in their life. In this two-part series, we’re going to highlight gifts from our shop and some of our favorite brands for two very generalized groups. First up is the student/young professional. Here, we’re assuming they’re young, maybe just getting into the nicer things – watches, style, etc. They’re not going to board meetings, but still should look sharp and everything should be nice and durable.

The Avi-8 x Worn & Wound Collab V2

This military inspired automatic was conceived partially as a great starter kit for the future watch enthusiast. The watch itself draws from various historical references, but has a modern style of its own and a unique two-tone PVD/Steel case. It’s powered by a reliable Miyota 8245 and features a domed sapphire crystal for legibility. We also packed it with accessories, making it a great watch for someone who maybe hasn’t owned an automatic or switched straps before. Each comes with two Nylon Mil-straps, and American-Made Coal leather strap, a strap changing tool and a carrying case. At $375, it’s everything a future watch enthusiast needs to get going.

Topo Rover Bag

Multiple Worn & Wound team members swear by these rugged, versatile back packs, so we can’t recommend them highly enough. Made in America of durable 1000D Cordura, these modern outdoorsy packs are super versatile. They feature flip down tops and paracord cinch closure allowing them to expand tremendously, whether carrying an extra pair of shoes, a pile of books or a couple of six-packs.

Model 2 Classic

We all know the easiest way to breathe new life in to one of your watches is to switch up the strap. For those looking for a stylish but affordable American-made option, our Model 2 Classics are just about the best option out there. Made with incredibly durable Wickett & Craig Vegetable Tanned leather, these unlined straps look good, wear hard and are a great way to get into straps without breaking the bank.

American Trench Mil-Spec Sport Socks

Socks? For the Holidays? Can you get anymore obvious? Well, here’s the thing, sometimes gifts are a great way to introduce someone to something they should buy for themselves, and these socks are on that list. These American-made socks are genuine mil-spec, and are the same as those knit for the US Military. They are plush and super comfortable (yes, speaking from experience) and feature arch compression for additional support as well as anti-microbial silver thread to help eliminate foot odor (which speaks for itself).

EDC Watch Fold

Let’s assume the target of your gift-purchasing already has a watch or two, how do they store them at home? What do they do with them when they travel? The EDC Watch Fold solves these problems with style and flair. Inspired by modern outdoors goods (like that swanky Topo bag up top) the EDC Watch Fold is American-made and features Cordura panels, Neoprene pockets and a paracord closure for a rugged construction. Each pocket can hold a watch or perhaps something else from their EDC like sunglasses, a small tool or pen.

New Balance 574 Sport Sneakers

Nice footwear goes along way towards making an outfit look sharp, but for the student or young professional that is on their feat all day running around, comfort is an obvious factor. The New Balance 574 Sport takes cues from the original 574, a retro classic, but modernizes them with different construction and materials. The outcome is an incredibly stylish and comfortable everyday sneaker that hints at the vintage kicks, but with a clearly modern feel. Paired with jeans these are great for the classroom or the cubicle.

ADPT Strap

With a name like “the All Day, Purpose and Terrain American-made Nylon Watch Strap,” you know durability is at the heart of the concept. Made of custom 420D nylon weave and 316L hardware sourced and manufactured in the US, the ADPT Strap is literally meant to be an everyday strap worn in any circumstance. For the outdoorsy kid who is not likely to take their watch off no matter what they are doing, ADPT is a great option as they can be washed off when dirty.

Everyman Grafton Pen

A nice pen should be a part of everyone’s EDC, but being that they are small, easily lost and can get expensive quick, for those who might want to step up from disposable Bics, something with a moderate price tag is a good start. The Everyman Grafton Pen is made of anodized aluminum, features a simple, but appealing design, and runs off of Fisher Space Pen refills for ease. With a price tag of $29.98, it’s a good way to ease someone into nice writing instruments, and might just end up being the only one they need.

Strap-Changing Multi-Tool

Whether a budding or established watch enthusiast, a well-made spring bar tool is an essential piece of kit and our original Strap-Changing Multi-Tool gets the job done and then some. Made of anodized aluminum and featuring two reversible (and replaceable) tips for a total of four tools (fork, pusher and two flat heads) its got you covered. But, it also has a trick up it sleeve. The whole tool splits in half to become two tools for when you need one to brace and the other to do the work.

Our Strap-Changing Multi-Tool combines spring bar tools and screw drivers with a unique convertible design

UV Flashlight

This is a trinket that any watch collector will enjoy. A UV Flashlight can almost instantly charge up the luminescent plots on a watch and leave them glowing for a while after. It’s fun to do, great for photography/social media and a good way to test the quality of the lume on a watch.
