Baselworld 2018 Teaser: Introducing The Doxa SUB 300T Divingstar “Poseidon Edition”

Hot on the heels of last year’s “Black Lung” tribute, Doxa has announced another limited edition timepiece straight out of the brand’s back catalog: the SUB 300T Divingstar “Poseidon Edition.”

The yellow-dialed SUB 300T Divingstar calls back to a watch Doxa produced in the ‘70s. These Divingstars were made for a very short period of time, and that limited production run means that they’re extremely desired by Doxa collectors today.

Rarer still are the Divingstars co-branded with renowned Swedish dive company, Poseidon. These watches featured the same bright-yellow dial, but with Poseidon’s badge placed on the lower-left quadrant of the dial.

The SUB 300T Divingstar “Poseidon Edition” features Doxa’s iconic 43mm tonneau case rated to 1,200m. All the Doxa mainstays remain. There’s the patented sawtooth bezel, a beads-of-rice bracelet with diver’s extension, and a helium release valve at nine. The power plant is the venerable ETA 2824-2.

The dial is essentially a one-for-one recreation, badge and all. Super-LumiNova, present on both the unique handset and the dial, illuminates the watch at night. All in all, this is another fun release from Doxa. While it’s by no means groundbreaking, that’s not really the point. I’m sure Doxa die-hards will jump on this one as quickly as they did the “Black Lung.” And if you’re thinking about getting this one, you better move fast. The SUB 300T Divingstar “Poseidon Edition” is limited to just 500 units.

The pre-order opens tomorrow (March 17th), and the pre-order price is $1,990. Final price is $2,490. Doxa
