Bucherer Archimedes Super Compressor

Starting this week off with a killer vintage diver, a Bucherer Archimedes Super Compressor. This beauty is the classic 36mm dual crown type, with the same case style used by companies like Bulova, Hamilton, Enicar and Benrus to name a few. The Archimedes stands out from other Super Compressors with the bright orange dial. This example is in excellent condition with an unpolished case and flawless dial. The dual crowns are the oversized type, with the classic cross-hatched design on the ends. Seller states the watch runs well, but no movement picture. You really can’t go wrong with these EPSA cased Super Compressor divers, and they are only getting more desired by collectors and harder to find in good shape.

Vintage Accutron Navigator

Here’s a rare and unusual piece, a vintage 1967 Accutron Navigator Mark 2 ships chronometer. These were used as extremely accurate time keeping devices on ships to aid in navigation. Usually these are high grade manual clocks, but Accutron dipped their toes in the water (see what I did there? ;-)) with their tuning fork movements. I read that this clock used three tuning fork movements mounted at 120 degrees from other to assist in accuracy. This one is in perfect condition and runs per the seller. And importantly, it comes in its original wood box housing, which is also in great condition. These don’t come up for sale often, and would make a great clock for a collector’s desk or mantle.

Vintage Universal Geneve

Next up is this classy dress watch from Universal Geneve. Universal Geneve is famous for their Polerouter watches designed by Gerald Genta and the Nin Rindt chronographs, but they also made a plethora of other nice watches. And that includes this super thin, super simple dress watch. The thin steel case looks unpolished, and is likely in the 34-35mm wide range although the seller doesn’t state the width so you may want to inquire if you’re interested. The white dial has a nice linen finish and shows a few light marks. The simple stick hour markers and hands give it a “Calatrava” look. The crystal has some hazing cracks so you’ll likely want to have that replaced. The little crown looks original and correct and is signed with the “U” logo as it should. Nice simple dress watch with an ultra thin profile.

Elgin Sportsman

Ok, time for another full-kit watch! This vintage Elgin has a nice looking 33mm wide yellow gold fill case in good condition. The crown however appears to be worn, with the gold plating gone or mostly gone. Normally I’d probably pass, but this one has the original box and all the papers which is just so cool. The crown can easily be used as-is or replaced for a cleaner look. The silver dial is clean and has nice stylized Arabic numerals and arrows for markers. The bad is a funky gold stretch band that if not original is certainly period-correct. But the full kit with inner and outer boxes as well as the filled in guarantee, instruction pamphlet and also the original little tags and back sticker make it all happen.

Vintage Longines

This next one is a real gem, one I honestly might bid on myself! It’s a vintage Longines with a killer black waffle dial with crosshairs and applied arrow markers. Black dials are much harder to find than white or silver, and this one looks original to me and is in amazing condition. You really just don’t see dials like this too often, and especially on a premium brand like Longines. The 33m wide steel case is excellent and looks unpolished and has a screw on case back. The Longines caliber 23Z manual wind movement is clean and is a beauty and the seller states it runs well. As a bonus this one has the original crown signed with the Longines winged hourglass logo. This is a real beauty and one I haven’t seen before.

Vintage Jeep Comanche LCD

Ok, time to finish up with something on the lighter side. I couldn’t pass up sharing this vintage LCD Jeep watch! Yes, it’s cheap and gimmicky, but if you own a Jeep, can you really not buy it?? Hey, it works and it’s in good shape, and like the Longines above, it’s one I haven’t seen before. And if you don’t have a Jeep, maybe someone you know does and this would make a classic gift…
