Introducing the Hanhart x The Rake & Revolution LE Bronze 417 Chronograph

After days of teases, Revolution Magazine and The Rake have revealed their latest collaboration: a Hanhart Limited Edition Bronze 417 Chronograph. In addition to the watch, they are offering a waxed cotton Belstaff Trialmaster black motorcycle jacket to pair it with. The whole kit was inspired by Steve McQueen, who famously wore a 417 Flieger Chronograph on a black leather bund strap. The look is preserved beautifully in this collaboration effort, and the jacket brings another layer of authenticity to the table. Motorcycle optional.

The Hanhart LE 417 Chronograph features a quick-patinating bronze case that measures 42mm in diameter. The case is CuSn8 in composition, meaning a high tin content for improved strength and resistance to corrosion. If you’re thinking about a bronze watch, this is the stuff you’re looking for. The look is meant to mimic vintage brass watches after their chrome coating has worn away. The result is a lovely tone of bronze that sings with the detailing of the coin edge bezel and black dial and strap combo.

The strap is a two-piece bund unit made of black leather with contrasting white stitching. The lower piece matches the profile of the watch case, meaning a more subtle appearance than you might imagine when it comes to bund straps. Pairing with the strap is the Belstaff Trialmaster black motorcycle jacket with matching bronze hardware (including the buckles at the belt and throat latch).

Running the LE Hanhart 417 Chronograph is a hand wound Sellita SW 510, meaning two registers on the dial, small seconds at 9 o’clock, and 30 minute counter at 3 o’clock. The movement offers 48 hours of reserve and sits behind an engraved closed steel caseback. You also get 100 meters of water resistance, though we’d recommend removing the jacket and bund if you plan on diving with the watch.
