Melbourne Watch Co. Releases the Flinders Version 2.0

Australia-based (and aptly named) Melbourne Watch Co. was founded in 2013, and this year they’re celebrating five years of operation. Last year, the brand launched a showroom in Carlton (a suburb in Melbourne). But it’s not just a showroom—it’s also where Melbourne Watch Co. now assembles all their watches. To commemorate this growth, Melbourne is reissuing their first-ever watch in a limited, 100-piece collection. Version 2.0 featuring a higher level of finish and the brand’s first-ever use of a Swiss movement (Sellita SW200-1).

Dubbed the Flinders Showroom Edition, it measures 40mm wide, 9.9mm thick, with a lug-to-lug height of 47mm. The case will be made available in stainless steel and plated rose gold. Sitting atop the case is a flat sapphire crystal with a layer of anti-reflective coating. Flipping the watch, you get a nice view of the Sellita SW200-1 caliber, decorated here with a custom rotor accented in a copper-esque finish.

The dial is classic Melbourne and features a mix of finishing, printing and applied indices, and a set of faceted sword hands (available in both black and blue). The only dial option available is white. The lug width is 20mm, and the Flinders Showroom Edition will come with two sets of watch straps (brown and black are available).

The watch is currently available for pre-order for $799 shipped direct from Melbourne Watch Co.’s website. Melbourne Watch Co.
