Pairs Well With: Hamilton Traveler GMT

For this edition of Pairs Well With, we teamed up with Dexter Austria, the mind behind extrmedium.com, a blog about fashion, gear, food, design and travel. We tasked him with pairing an outfit with one of our favorite watches by Hamilton, the Traveler GMT.

GMT watches have a certain air of sophistication about them, no matter what brand or style the watch happens to be. There are GMTs of every kind under the sun, from the iconic GMT Master II by Rolex to the ops-ready Sinn 756 UTC chronograph. The simple edition of an independent 24-hour hand, which can be used to track time in another part of the world, seems to suggest endless possibilities about both the watch and the wearer. The Hamilton Traveler GMT, part of the Jazzmaster line, distills this worldliness into an exceptionally elegant 60’s inspired design. This 42mm stainless steel watch has a very unique case design that separates the lugs and crown guard visually, creating the appearance of a multi-part case. The dial is silver colored, has a 24-hr index, diamond shape metal applied markers and a very stylish date aperture. With steel hands and a blued GMT arrow hand, the whole watch exudes a vintage finesse that makes you want to jump in a convertible and drive. The Traveler is powered by an ETA 2893-2 GMT automatic movement, has a sapphire crystal, display case back and runs in the $800 range.

This Pairs Well With takes its inspiration from the vintage aesthetic of the Hamilton to create a sophisticated but relaxed outfit for the weekend traveler.
