QUICK RELEASE in Partnership with Jack Mason

A New Dr. Pepper Strat-o-timer from Jack Mason Deepens Their Texas Roots

Texas’s nickname pays homage to the Lone Star flag, adopted following the state’s independence from Mexico in 1836. Texas was an independent republic for a decade before becoming a part of the United States. The flag represents the pride and independence that define life in Texas. Founded in 2015, Jack Mason strives to be authentic, original, and fresh in a competitive watch market. Their lone star logo represents this spirit. In 2020, they decided to exit all retail and focus entirely on their website to take complete control of branding. In 2022, they launched the Strat-O-Timer GMT model, which was warmly received by collectors and solidified their direction moving forward.

Many people are familiar with the GMT watches from Pepsi and Coke. In 2023, Jack Mason decided to join this trend, but instead of naming one of their watches after a popular soft drink, they collaborated with a beverage brand. That’s right—Jack Mason partnered with Texas’s own Dr. Pepper to create a Strat-O-Timer featuring the brand’s distinctive colors. Unfortunately, this was a limited edition release of only 230 pieces, and they quickly sold out. This was intended to be a one-time event; however, they have decided to establish it as an annual partnership due to significant demand. You read that correctly: a new Dr. Pepper Strat-O-Timer for 2024!

This year’s edition is not a limited release, but given the quick sell-out of the previous model, it is recommended that you act fast. Key updates for the 2024 version include a frosty silvery-white dial with a textured finish inspired by “Diet Dr Pepper®” and a relocated date window at the 6 o’clock position for a more symmetrical look. The Strat-o-timer dial text has switched to “One of a Kind,” the official Dr Pepper® slogan. The sapphire bezel features the brand’s signature colors but now has clean white markings instead of beige. It also includes a hard coating that is resistant to 1200 Vickers.

The case back showcases the brand logo and the fun slogan, “Drink a bite to eat at 10, 2, and 4 o’clock,” reflected in the colored lume glowing at those positions. Visible through the display case back is an up-market Miyota 9075 automatic, a true traveler’s GMT. This means the hour hand can be adjusted independently without disrupting the timekeeping. Additional features include a power reserve of 42 hours, a beat rate of 28,800 vibrations per hour, and a rotor mounted on ball bearings specially decorated with the Dr. Pepper logo.

The Jack Mason Strat-O-Timer has dimensions of 40mm in diameter, 47mm from lug to lug, and a thickness of 13mm. Each watch comes on a comfortable 7-link bracelet that tapers from 20mm at the watch head to 16mm at the twin-trigger clasp. It also features quick-release end-links for easy strap changes and a clasp with convenient, on-the-fly micro-adjustment for a perfect fit. All watches are assembled in the United States of America and are regulated to within +/- 5 seconds per day. They are also water-resistant up to 200 meters, in case you accidentally, or on purpose, fall into some water.

Like last year, the launch date is set for October 23rd, honoring the 23 flavors of Dr Pepper®. The Dr Pepper® Strat-o-timer is priced at $1,149. For more information, check out the Jack Mason website.
