Whether you’re starting a job at a new office or planning your next serious dive trip, there are plenty of Citizen watches to choose from to suit both your style and interests. While there are plenty of brands out there who strive to have something for everyone, very few pull it off as well as Citizen does. Today, we’re taking a look at six very different watches, all made by Citizen and all well-suited to their designated task.
If you’re looking to gift one watch to do it all, the Endicott is a solid choice. Measuring in at 42mm, the stainless steel case features an angular design that looks great no matter what it’s paired with. The black dial features a standard three hand layout with a color-matched date wheel display at 3 o’clock. Applied indices pop out from the textured dial and add a refined look to the watch. The recipient will also appreciate the generous 100 meters of water resistance and convenient and maintenance-free Eco-Drive solar technology that powers the watch. The sapphire crystal protecting the dial is durable and scratch-resistant. If you know someone who’s planning on spending any time in or under the water, then the Citizen Promaster Dive is the watch for them. This is an ISO certified dive watch, boasting serious specs that guarantee that it’s ready for the deep. A textured screw down crown and 200 meters of water resistance are just two of many features that make the Promaster Dive completely capable. Another model featuring Citizen’s Eco-Drive technology for both sustainability and convenience. Bold, angular indices combined with a chunky handset are easy to read in day or night, thanks to the strong application of luminous paint. The classic red and blue bezel is capable of tracking elapsed time up to 60 minutes.
Drawing inspiration from field and military watches, the Garrison is an ideal gift for those who spend their time in the great outdoors who need a lightweight, reliable, and tough timepiece. At 42mm wide, the Garrison has some serious visual presence on the wrist, but stays lightweight and sleek thanks to the Super Titanium® case and bracelet. Super Titanium is Citizen’s proprietary titanium alloy that’s extremely lightweight and strong—five times harder and 40% lighter than stainless steel. The Garrison’s dial features a modernized field watch layout, with bold printed indices rendered in a creamy, vintage-inspired lume. Packed with features, this modern take on the pilot’s watch is inspired by stealth helicopters. The dial is busy, but for good reason. You can make advanced calculations with the slide rule bezel, track two separate time zones, and even count elapsed time with the chronograph function. Powered by Eco-Drive solar technology, the Promaster Nighthawk runs on ambient light and never requires a battery change. The modern, angular case measures in at 42mm and features a black bezel with aggressive texturing. Taking things in a slightly different direction from the Promaster Dive, the Dive Automatic features a blacked out case and fully-lumed dial. Instead of merely featuring luminous indices, the entire dial will glow brightly into the night with 8 blacked-out hour markers creating a legible contrast on glowing lume dial. In addition to that, there are also 4 lume markers at 12, 3, 6, and 9. The Promaster Dive Automatic isn’t a one-trick pony, it’s also a fully ISO-compliant dive watch with a unidirectional rotating bezel, 200m of water resistance, and a screw down crown located at 8 o’clock. The textured bezel and black case look striking in contrast with the yellowy-green dial, making for a unique dive watch. Inside, the watch is powered by Citizen’s Caliber 8204, which features automatic winding, 21 jewels throughout, and a convenient 42-hour power reserve.
There’s always something fun about a chronograph. Even when not timing anything mission critical, it’s still a fun complication that makes a solid addition to anyone’s watch collection. The Garrison Chronograph is a military/field style watch with a well thought out chronograph function. Three sub dials are arranged in the middle of the dial, with the ability to track 60 minutes, display 24 hour time, and show running seconds. It’s housed in a compact 39mm stainless steel case with a screw down crown that allows for 100 meters of water resistance. The bold red seconds hand really pops off the black and white dial, adding a touch of color while making the chronograph seconds especially easy to read. The Garrison Chrono ships on a dark green textile strap that furthers the military inspiration while staying comfortable on anyone’s wrist.
