Windup Watch Fair New York Features Record Amount of New Releases this Weekend

There’s something special about the week leading up to a Windup. Ahead of every Windup—but especially hosting on our home turf, during the changing season—there’s an electricity that keeps us fueled. With the final confirmations and early morning setups to transform The Altman Building into the inimitable Windup Watch Fair 2023, we’d say it’s no different this year…but that’s simply not true. There’s so much new stuff happening this year!

The venue may be the same, but the space is bigger. This year we’re taking over both floors of the Altman Building to host 83 watch and EDC brands from Friday, October 20, through Sunday, October 22. Of these partners, over 35 companies are releasing a new product for first-time public viewings and wrist shots. When you walk into the space, you’ll see some of the biggest names in watches, including our lead sponsors: Bulova, Christopher Ward, G-Shock, Oris, and Zodiac, as well as other incredible brands. Be sure to enter the giveaway at Reception with prizes from G-Shock, Fossil, Timely Soles, and Xeric. And while you’re there pick up our first-ever brand book to help you navigate the space. It also becomes a nice little memento of your time at Windup. As always, the Windup Watch Fair is free to enter and open to the public. Make your plan to come see us this weekend with these details:

The Altman Building on 18th Street

Friday, October 20: 12PM – 6PM
Saturday, October 21: 12PM – 6PM
Sunday, October 22: 12PM – 5PM
Free and open to the public

Our mission is the same, but our scope is larger. Any reader of Worn & Wound knows that our core focus is always the pieces on our wrists. We investigate the values behind our love of watches and, over the years, have connected with like-minded brands producing the gear, apparel, and everyday carry items that are as near and dear to our hearts. A short stairwell (or elevator) away from the front doors of Windup, you’ll find EDC Alley. This is a part of the Fair that’s grown from a few early-adopter booths in San Francisco, to become an integral part of Windup. Come check out the latest rugged outdoor gear from Filson and automotive-inspired pieces from Standard H. Take a scribble with the elegant Esterbrook pens and, our long-time ADPT partners, Tactile Turn. GiantMouse, and The James Brand will be showcasing their everyday pocket knives. You can get strapped with David Lane Design, and of course, the Windup Watch Shop will be holding court as well with accessories from across our inventory.

The watches are new, but steeped in history. While we all have our favorite independent brands expanding the watch community, this year Windup will also feature the Special Edition Classic Disney Mickey Mouse Watch from the Disney | Fossil Collection, showing in-person for the first time in New York. With its quintessential moving hands, the Special Edition Classic Disney Mickey Mouse Watch has always been an example of the fun and creativity that powers our passion. The Fossil booth will be an entertaining stop on your rounds on this new, additional level to Windup NYC.

The brands are bringing new gear, but we want to see your collection too. While New York Fashion Week wrapped in September, there’s still time to pick the pieces you’ll show off as you’re chatting with the other attendees around the Fair. Have a question about an older piece laying around your house? Grand Central Watch Co., one of our preferred watch servicers, will be on site, helping with complementary strap changes and bracelet adjustments for new purchases. They’ll also have some of their vintage pieces available for sale as well as their trove of industry knowledge from over 70 years of watch repair service.

From refreshed classics to mold-breaking creations, the record-breaking number of new releases at this year’s Windup are over 35 additional reasons to stop by Windup Watch Fair New York and there are so many more for you to find when you arrive. This Fair has always been our favorite way to meet the community and share the passion that we’ve poured into building Worn & Wound. We can’t wait to share all the different parts of Windup with all of you this weekend. Follow along for all of the fun @windupwatchfair and windupwatchfair.com. See you soon!
