Time On Track, Ep. 10: Round 10 – Austria

Time On Track returns this week with a look at the Austrian Grand Prix at the Red Bull Ring. Ricardo and Blake attempt to make sense of the track limits and what we’d like to see happen with turn 10 at this track, as well discuss what may have been the most entertaining part of the race weekend, the sprint race on a wet Saturday. The results at the top may not have been shocking, but the ordering of the teams directly below is still up in the air at this point in the season, with Ferrari making a strong play for the number 2 team after some upgrades. 

Next week Formula 1 heads to Silverstone circuit in the UK for round 11 of the season, the British GP. Not only is this a home race for both of the Merc drivers, but they’ll also be getting the benefit (perhaps?) of another round of updates to their car. With Ferrari and Aston Martin surging, we’re hoping this leads to more on-track drama of those final grid spots.

Maintaining a firm hold on the season is Max Verstappen, who managed to find enough time for a last minute pit stop for fresh tires to nab the fastest lap point from teammate Sergio Perez for good measure. This race did see his consecutive led lap count, which had stood at 249, get rest to zero thanks to Charles Leclerc taking it from him thanks to a well timed pit stop under yellow flags.
