The founder of Collins Watch, Jimmy Collins, is a self-proclaimed “watch guy through and through.” He also has a background in music recording, a passion that lent inspiration to the design of his first watch, the Bronson. Boasting a familiar pilot’s watch aesthetic, the Bronson is a no-nonsense, grab-and-go piece. It’s not breaking the mold, but there’s no pretense that it is. At a starting price of $245, it doesn’t break the bank, either. And on top of that, each watch will be tested, adjusted, and assembled in the United States.
The case (available in either a matte blasted finish of black PVD) measures 40mm with a height of 12mm and a lug-to-lug measurement of 48mm. Overall, it’s a comfortable size for a number of different wrists sizes. Further case specs include a sapphire crystal and 100-meters of water resistance. The crown at three is designed to mimic the grooves of a volume knob.
