Aquis Date Calibre 400
In late 2020, Oris released their latest in-house movement, the Calibre 400. Featuring a five-day power reserve (120 hours), high resistance to magnetism, and a 10-year recommended service interval, Oris is calling this “the new standard” for automatic mechanical movements. The first watch to feature this new movement is none other than the Aquis, Oris’ very popular modern dive watch. Sporting classic Aquis styling in every way, this piece is a sleeper of sorts – a modern classic on the outside, cutting edge movement tech on the inside.
Big Crown ProPilot TLP LE
The Oris Big Crown ProPilot line is the brand’s take on the modern pilot’s watch. A rare unique vision of a common type of watch, large numerals made of molded lume, and a distinctive turbine motif along the bezel and crown give them undeniable personality. For this new limited edition, Oris teamed up with TLP, the Tactical Leadership Programme, a pilot training school based in Albacete, Spain.
Limited to 750 units, this model is based on the 44mm day/date version of the ProPilot, but features a matte olive green dial and a gun metal PVD case. The combination is undeniably appealing, adding overt military-style to this already aggressive watch. Additionally, the case back has been etched with TLP’s logo, and the watch is equipped with an exceptionally rugged Ventile strap in olive green. As a bonus, Oris also threw in a ventile carrying case and card holder.
Divers Sixty-Five Glow
Originally re-released in 2015, the Divers Sixty-Five was Oris’ first foray into heritage diver territory, and a very successful one at that. Pulling from their extensive archives, the Divers Sixty-Five was based on a quirky and distinctly Oris mid-century design (originally launched in 1965) that gave the watch a unique look and flavor. A mix of a large dial, massive crystal, thin bezel, and slim mid-case made the watch stand out from the increasingly crowded sea of vintage-inspired divers. The result was an immediate success, quickly becoming one of the brand’s most popular designs. This updated model features a gradient grey dial and teal hour markers offering a pop of color.
Big Crown ProPilot Okavango Air Rescue LE
Created with the intention of serving remote communities in Botswana, the O.A.R. brings aeromedical services to areas that would otherwise be cut off. The Big Crown ProPilot Okavango Air Rescue (O.A.R.) LE celebrates the 10th anniversary of this truly great initiative with a safari-styled edition of their trusty, modern pilot’s watch.
The O.A.R. edition features a unique nature-inspired dial that speaks to the lush Okavango Delta. The gradient dial fades from a verdant yellow-green to a darker, shaded tone, which is printed over a deeply textured dial with an organic grain. Molded Super-Luminova numerals still stand out, providing legibility day or night. The Big Crown ProPilot Okavango Air Rescue LE is limited to 2011 units, and comes with a leather travel pouch, as well as two straps: an elastic Erika’s Originals, and a classic brown leather.
Aquis Date Upcycle
The Aquis Date Upcycle is a new version of the brand’s high-performance diver’s watch with a colorful dial made of recycled PET plastic and is available in either a 41.5 mm or 36.5 mm case. Each watch will be unique because the plastic recycling process produces random patterns, meaning no two dials will be the same. Beyond the dial, the watches share their architecture with the popular Aquis Date 41.5 mm and 36.5 mm models. Both have a stainless steel case and a uni-directional rotating diver’s bezel with a scratch-resistant grey ceramic insert.
Big Crown ProPilot Rega Fleet LE
The new Pro Pilot Rega Fleet watches are built to the specifications of the Swiss air rescue team. Rega is a privately funded elite rescue team supported by over 3.5 million patrons that can report for duty within 15 minutes to anywhere in Switzerland. A rescue team that’s operating at high altitudes in the mountains needs a watch that can keep up with the rest of their gear, and Oris’s Pro Pilot GMT makes an excellent starting point.
Needless to say, Oris will have quite the collection on display at the upcoming NYC Windup Watch Fair. You don’t want to miss it. As a reminder, Windup is taking place October 22nd – 24th at Chelsea Market in NYC and, as always, is free and open to the public. We hope to see you there!
