The Worn & Wound Podcast Ep 324: Talking Sweetwater with Jason Heaton

This week on the podcast, Blake and Kat welcome Jason Heaton back to the podcast for a lively conversation about diving, driving, and most certainly watches. Jason just published his second novel, Sweetwater, a sequel to his debut published a few years ago, and the second book in what is now an ongoing series of thrillers following Julian “Tusker” Tusk on his many adventures. Jason talks about what led him to write these old fashioned adventure stories and takes us through his process, including how he lands on a setting (he’s a proud ambassador for the Great Lakes region of the United States), the concept for the evocative cover art, and how he lands on the watches he features in his novels.

Before getting deep into Sweetwater, there’s lots of talk about diving, including Blake’s recent excursions in Dubai. And Jason shares the story of the watch on his wrist at the time of this recording, a vintage Breitling Navitimer, found in an unusual place.
