Inspired by 1970s rally chronographs, Cadola’s Testa di Toro uses a bull-head case configuration, placing the chronograph pushers at 12 o’clock. The layout was originally developed for motorsport timing, keeping the controls accessible while staying clear of the wrist during driving.
Cadola Revisits the Testa di Toro Chronograph with a New Bracelet Edition Collection
The stainless steel case measures 42mm and maintains the familiar bull-head profile. With the pushers positioned at the top of the case, the watch is oriented around function first. An anti-reflective mineral crystal protects the dial, while a Japanese quartz chronograph movement handles timekeeping. The movement choice aligns with the watch’s purpose, offering reliability and clear chronograph performance without unnecessary complexity. The dial layout is designed for quick reading, with strong contrast and straightforward subdial placement.
This release introduces the Testa di Toro on a stainless steel bracelet for the first time. The 22mm bracelet gives the watch a more substantial feel and shifts it toward everyday wear, compared to earlier strap-based versions. A fold-over clasp with push-button release keeps the bracelet in-place, and with a water resistance rated at 5 ATM, it’s a watch with a bit of built-in security and peace of mind when worn throughout your day.
The Bracelet Edition is offered in four colorways, each pulling from motorsport design without straying far from the core formula. Velocity Black features a black dial with high-contrast markings for maximum legibility. Racing Ruby uses a red dial with black, orange, and blue accents, referencing classic racing color schemes. Cobalt Gauge combines blue with black and red details for a distinctly retro look. Pine Racer introduces a green dial that stands out as perhaps the most distinctive variant with its unexpected color choice that somehow still feels right at home in the motorsport context.
Taken together, the collection shows how the Testa di Toro design adapts across different colorways while retaining its defining case shape and layout. The addition of a steel bracelet gives the model a new wearing option without changing its underlying character – or the inspiration and history behind the bull-head design.
All four models in the Testa di Toro Chronograph Bracelet Edition are priced at $189. More information on the collection is available at cadola1946.com.
