QUICK RELEASE in partnership with Nivada Grenchen

Nivada Grenchen Gets Up Close and Personal with their F77 MKII Collection

To celebrate Nivada Grenchen’s 100th anniversary, the Swiss brand has released a collection of new watches, reimagining the F77 through community feedback and modernizing the original model’s silhouette through small, but still impactful, design changes. The MKII refines the previous model’s architecture with a more ergonomic case and more balanced 38mm proportions. The lugs got a slight makeover, too, by being both slightly curved for a better fit and drilled to make it easier to swap the integrated bracelet. Overall, these changes have enhanced the watch’s sporty character while keeping true to the historic silhouette.

The collection includes several distinct dial executions, with a focus on texture, material, and surface treatment across the range.

The Stone Dial series expands the collection’s material range. Lapis Lazuli offers a deep blue surface with natural inclusions, meteorite brings its distinctive structural pattern, green aventurine introduces a subtle shimmer, and dark blue aventurine leans into a richer, more reflective finish. Each option changes the character of the watch without altering its underlying design, while further cementing the design prowess of the watchmakers’ talents to use such raw materials to create a range of high-quality watches. This is further made clear when juxtaposed against the steel cases, which punctuate the mix of naturalism and modernity that ties this collection together.

As part of the wider F77 MKII collection, Nivada Grenchen has also confirmed that an Open Heart model will be released at a later date, expanding the range with an additional dial execution.

On the more technical side, the watch is powered by the SOPROD P024 automatic movement. The calibre beats at 28,800 vibrations per hour, with 25 jewels, and delivers a 38-hour power reserve. The broader F77 design remains intact, including the octagonal bezel with exposed screws and a double-domed sapphire crystal.

For those who prefer a more subtle option, the F77 MKII Classic Braided Dial models revisit one of the design’s most recognizable elements, in which the watch face has a subtle, but distinct, braided pattern overlaying the dial. Offered in black, grey, blue, and white—all available with or without a date—these dials introduce texture while maintaining the sharp geometry associated with the F77’s 1970s-inspired design language.

Nivada Grenchen’s 100th Anniversary F77 MKII collection is available now, with pricing ranging slightly depending on style and model. The Stone Dial versions start at $1,360, while the Classic Braided Dial variants begin at $1,160. The watches are available on Nivada Grenchen’s website.
