QUICK RELEASE in Partnership with HAIM

Svelte Aesthetics Meet Precision In The New L2 Chronograph From Haim Watch Company

Following a successful crowdfunding campaign and release of the Legacy SE and Descent, HAIM is announcing a new model: the L2 Chronograph. The L2 is the second generation of the “Legacy” family and was well received during its display recently at the Windup Watch Fair in Chicago (Chicago happens to be the Haim headquarters).

It builds on both the original Legacy and Legacy SE. The L2 features a redesigned case and updated dial design work. It is available in four dial variants: “Gray Glacier”, “Dark Cobalt”, “Pink Gold” and “ Aqua Ocean”. The case is slimmed to 38mm with an emphasis on being as thin as possible. It comes in at 10.8mm thick, which is a feat considering the dial is 3 layers and has a variety of visual depth to it. The L2 is where aesthetics and precision intersect.

The L2 continues on with the Legacy’s tradition of thoughtful and functional design elements. Svelte dimensions create a timepiece that’s timeless: The L2 is sized at 38mm (45mm lug to lug) and maintains a 10.8mm thickness, all while boasting a stunning, three-layered dial that has plenty of depth and is finished with applied markers and varied textures. Sapphire Crystal with five layers of anti-reflective coating ensure legibility while being scratch resistant, so that you can use your timepiece worry free.

The newly designed 316L stainless steel case has an aesthetic that allows the L2 to be worn in formal settings, while being versatile enough to transition to casual settings. The case blends both brushed and polished finishes in the right places – with added chamfering (even on the chronograph pushers) to promote light play. The case lugs are a modern reinterpretation of the legendary “Cornes de Vache” (French for “cow horns”) lug style that renowned watch houses have utilized in the past. Unlike those, the L2’s lugs combine both sharp and rounded edges that maintain Haim’s original design language while giving respect to those timepieces that paved the way. The lugs are also chamfered for additional distinction.

Water resistant to 50 metres (160 feet), the L2 is suitable for most activities as long as the crown is pushed down and the pushers are not activated under water. The L2 comes on a handmade leather strap that is made in partnership with Delugs. It features contrast stitching and quick release technology. The leather strap should not get wet as that can cause the leather to dry out.

The L2 features the robust and reliable VK64 meca-quartz movement. A design focus with the L2 is thinness and timekeeping precision. The VK64 achieves both. It is known to be more reliable than traditional mechanical movements and also allows the connoisseur, enthusiast and casual watch wearer to wear the L2 without worry and daily maintenance. With normal wear, maintenance is only needed every two years. The L2 Chronograph from Haim Watch Company is available for $450 including shipping on their website. Through September 1, 2023, Quick Release readers can use the code “WornWound12” for 12% off any watch in the Haim shop as well as free shipping within the continental US.
