Setting a New Standard with Serica Watches
in partnership with

Founded in 2019 and off to a strong start, Serica has embarked on a journey to elevate the quality of their brand. By sticking to a few key components, Serica Watches is bringing their entire lineup of handsome, timeless wrist watches up to the next level. It’s easy to rest on your laurels and coast, but pushing towards refinement of small details and improving quality for the wearer is of the utmost importance to the brand. Today, we’re taking a look at the key points that Serica has set out to achieve. Whether it’s their allegiance to automatic movements, or the pursuit of thin, yet rugged watches, there’s now even more to like about these handsome timepieces from the French brand.

Always Automatic

At the heart of any watch in the Serica lineup, there will always be an automatic movement. Whether it’s the Soprod C125 GMT movement inside the 8315 Travel Chronometer, or the automatic M100 in the 5303 Diving Chronometer, each and every watch has a high quality automatic movement. Reliable and accurate, these movements call back to the classic era of horology that Serica draws their inspiration from for the rest of their design. Besides the cool-factor, having an automatic movement is convenient for daily wear, as the watch will stay wound via the motion of your wrist.

COSC Chronometer Certification

In addition to containing automatic movements, Serica is stepping up the quality of those movements as well. Each and every Serica watch going forward will include COSC certification. COSC is an independent laboratory that tests and certifies watch movements only when they pass rigorous accuracy tests. A passing grade will mean that an automatic movement will remain accurate to a strict -4 / +6 seconds per day. By committing to more accurate movements, your new Serica will be supremely accurate for an effortless wearing experience.

Rugged Construction in a Slim Package

Another area of improvement that Serica has committed to is providing rugged watches in a slim package. By blurring the lines between dress and tool, the brand brings watches to the scene that can easily be worn anywhere and never look out of place. Should you find yourself out for the evening, the very same watch you swam in the ocean with during the day can easily slip under a cuff. The 6190 Field Watch features a mix of brushed and polished finishes for an elegant look, while measuring in at 37.7mm wide by only 10.4mm thick while maintaining an extremely impressive 200 meters of water resistance.

Years of R&D For the Perfect Straps

There’s no denying the comfort and style of a well-worn leather strap, but expose it to water and you can kiss it goodbye. In order to combat this experience, Serica has crafted multiple solutions. Their Bonklip® bracelet, developed entirely by Serica to be their official steel bracelet, is one of their stainless steel solutions along with their sleek, custom milanese bracelet with flattened links. Both provide comfort, timeless aesthetics, and highly adjustable sizing systems.

Rubber straps are typically a bit thicker and less comfortable, but can withstand water with ease. Serica realized that the perfect strap is achievable by mixing the best of both worlds. Their new “Sport” rubber strap is an injection moldable compound of rubber that is extremely supple and equally water resistant. They’ve molded it with a texture that looks just like leather from afar. Each strap is finished off with premium hardware that pairs well with their lineup of watches.

Enhanced Elegance with the Guilloche End Piece

When wearing a watch on a strap, you’re missing out on the elegant look of a finely finished end link. Serica’s new Guilloche End Links are available with non-bracelet straps. The fine lines are a continuation of the pattern seen on the edge of the bezel, bringing it further down the watch and into the transitional space where the strap attaches. It’s a unique look and adds a beautiful little detail to a space on the watch that’s typically just left alone.

Constantly striving for the best, Serica aims to improve their watches before they even need it. By setting the bar higher and higher, they’re keeping themselves ahead of the pack. Each of their watches represent a uniquely-styled option that’s packed with top-notch specs, especially for the price.
