The Tactile Turn Nitro

If you’re not yet familiar with Tactile Turn, well, now is the time. They make some of our favorite pens, fully machined in-house at their Texas facilities, with a unique finely ribbed finish that’s just a pleasure in hand. Their latest seasonal release, the Nitro, just hit their website, and is available for pre-order through December 31. The side click pen is milled from titanium, and has a brown Cerakote coating that evokes your morning coffee. There are plenty of little details throughout that make this one special, including a laser engraved, anodized lightning bolt mug icon on the clip, and metallic gold paint mixed into the coating to give it extra depth and luster. Head over to Tactile Turn for more info, and to place an order.

The Times Covers the Stories of the New York City Marathon

The New York City Marathan takes place on Sunday, and even if you’re not a runner, there’s reason to be excited. It’s an event that touches the entire city (the course runs through all five boroughs, beginning on Staten Island before winding its way through Brooklyn, Queens, Manhattan, and the Bronx, before finishing in Central Park), and as always, the New York Times has special coverage of the race in a special section devoted to the marathon and the stories around it. This year, they have an especially fun piece on driving the marathon route, as well as a guide on where to watch this year’s race if you plan on cheering on the athletes in person. Be sure to check out all of this year’s marathon coverage right here.

Dubai Watch Week is Coming

Next week will mark the beginning of Dubai Watch Week, a free and open to the public event that happens every other year in Dubai featuring some of the most exciting independent brands in the game. We’ll be on hand this year, covering the fair from the ground, and will be going hands-on with plenty of new releases in the process, so keep an eye out for much more coming from Dubai over the coming weeks.

Dubai Watch Week will feature a slew of panel discussions that will broach a wide range of topics about watches, the industry, and the intersection of design, culture, collecting, and more. All panels will be live streamed for free. We’re excited to be a part of this year’s event, and hope to experience a new culture of enthusiasts with whom to connect and learn from. See more details about the event at Dubai Watch Week.

Wired Interviews Shawn Levy

Shawn Levy isn’t exactly a household name as far as Hollywood filmmakers go, but he’s absolutely a hit machine, and you’ve probably been exposed to his work countless times. He’s perhaps most well known as being part of the team behind Stranger Things, the Netflix series that is set to return, well, sometime – there’s still no date attached, a result of the ongoing SAG/AFTRA strike and recently settled writer’s guild strike. But he also has a massive hit with the Ryan Reynolds vehicle Free Guy, and is working on wrapping up a Deadpool sequel, also starring Reynolds. And his name has been batted around the Star Wars universe as well.

In this wide ranging interview with Wired, Levy talks about coming into his own as a filmmaker, what’s up with the rumored Taylor Swift cameo in the new Deadpool, and is surprisingly candid about the challenges associated with working within the giant Marvel machine. Head over to Wired to read the whole thing.

GTA VI Release Date Speculation Intensifies

Few releases in the video game industry capture as much attention as a new Grand Theft Auto. A Half-Life 3 announcement might be the only thing to garner more. Unlike H-L3, we actually know that the next GTA is in development thanks to a comprehensive leak that happened nearly 2 years ago, showing off development footage which prompted a response from the game’s developer, Rockstar, acknowledging the severity of the leak. The next installment, Grand Theft Auto 6, is hugely anticipated and expected to bring a next generation experience to the franchise. Their last effort, Grand Theft Auto 5 was released back in 2013, and still holds up remarkably well 10 years on. But that hasn’t slowed down the hype for GTA6.

The rumor mill has been working overtime in recent months about a potential launch announcement late this year, but those dates keep passing with no official word. The latest blow to eager fans was the debunking of an Australian ratings page for the game, which turned out to be fake. It will likely be a bit longer before we hear anything official, but I’m of the mind that a game should take as much time as it needs to release in a solid state, so here’s to being patient a while longer.
