eBay Finds: A Classic Omega, a Grand Seiko in Great Condition, and an Uncommon Watch from Texas Instruments

eBay Finds is back! This bi-monthly installment will feature a selection of watches currently listed on eBay that have caught the eye of editor Christoph McNeil (@vintagediver). If you come across any hidden gems on the ‘Bay drop us a note at [email protected] for potential inclusion.

Vintage Citizen

Here is a brilliant vintage Citizen. The stainless steel case is unpolished with nice sharp edges on the bezel and killer lugs. The clean white dial has two vertical silver stripes that give it a really sporty look. Simple applied steel baton markers and a day/date window at 3 o’clock. Overall a classic looking Japanese sport/dress watch. The watch comes on a steel Jubilee-style bracelet that fits the look, but is not original to the watch. The crown is signed as it should be. No movement picture but it runs well per the seller.

Texas Instruments Starburst

Now this one is interesting! A vintage Texas Instruments Starburst digital watch that has an analog style display. The square case is gold plated, as is the integrated bracelet. The watch looks almost new-old-stock, and is in stellar condition with no wear. The dial has a gold radial starburst pattern, with a round digital display in the middle. It has LCD hands that show the time, as well as a day/date function. Really a trippy and unique vintage LCD watch that I haven’t seen before. The watch comes with the original box as well as the original instruction booklet. Works well per the seller, with a new battery.

Vintage Omega Constellation

Next up is a true classic, a vintage Omega Constellation in a solid 18k gold case, with the original box. This one is in amazing condition, with an unpolished case that has well defined chamfers on the classic Constellation lugs. The dial has the highly sought-after bullseye design with broad arrow markers. The markers are applied 18k gold to match the case. The dial looks original to me, and has an even, pleasing patina that lends credence to the dial being original. The watch comes on a two-tone yellow gold and steel Omega beads of rice bracelet. I’m not 100% convinced this bracelet is original to the watch, but it is an Omega and you just can’t beat the beads of rice bracelets for style and comfort. The Omega caliber 505 automatic movement is clean and beautiful, and works well per the seller. This is a rare gem, not one to be missed if you’re after a vintage Constellation.

Vintage Pulsar P4

You know I love a good vintage LED watch, and this is a beautiful example of a vintage Pulsar P4. The space age rectangular steel case is excellent and unpolished, complete with its integrated bracelet with signed buckle. The watch works as it should, and looks both retro and modern at the same time. The watch also comes with the original Pulsar box. Absolutely killer vintage LED that will definitely draw some looks when you wear it.

Vintage LeCoultre

Next up we have a super 1970’s LeCoultre. Complete with original box, all papers, original receipt. The yellow gold fill (I assume, seller doesn’t say if it’s fill or solid) case has a funky coin edge design, and looks to be unpolished. The silver dial has a horizontal brushed finish and applied gold stick markers, with broad stick hands. It comes on a yellow stretch band that surely isn’t original. But the watch does come with the original box as well as the warranty, instructions and receipt. This is a LeCoultre that I haven’t seen before, and has a great, funky 1970’s vibe. No movement picture but seller states it runs.

Seiko Grand Seiko 5722-9991

Finishing off this week with a real beauty. This vintage July 1967 Grand Seiko 5722-9991 is a stunner. The 57GS as it’s called is one of Seiko’s best. The large steel case is unpolished, which is getting rarer every year. For some reason these are almost always polished, and it just ruins the subtle edge on those big ol’ lugs. There is a little wear to the lettering on the GS medallion on the caseback, but not too bad. The clearly legible serial number on the back dates it to July 1967. The silver dial looks original and in excellent condition. Classic Seiko applied steel baton markers, and beveled steel dauphine hands. The large Seiko signed crown is correct and original. The large crown makes it easier to wind the Seiko caliber 5722 manual wind movement. There is no movement picture, but the seller states it runs. Great opportunity to get an original, unmolested 57GS!
