QUICK RELEASE in Partnership with Beaubleu

Circles Upon Circles Make the Seconde Francaise from Beaubleu Mesmerizing

Since its inception in 2017, Beaubleu values originality and the ability to surprise. They are in constant search of new ingredients to cultivate their unique vision of “the art of the twist”. Their founder, Nicolas Ducoudert believes that creation is the driving force of innovation, and it occupies a central place at Beaubleu. They attach great importance to creating solid, useful and endearing objects that collectors want to keep and pass on to future generations. Their desire is to create products that tell a story, both in their use and in the choice of materials.

Introducing the Seconde Française reference 19.24 and 20.24, instantly recognizable as a Beaubleu designs, however, something is off. Instead of three circular hands all running off the same axis, the seconds are displayed by a small, independent circle hand floating around the perimeter, pointing to its own track, at the very edge of the dial. All the white hands are coated in X1-grade SuperLuminova. The case is the same as their Vitruve model, measuring 39mm in diameter, 10.2mm thick and 45mm from lug-to-lug. It also features the same hidden crown system, creating perfect visual symmetry from above.

Powering these unorthodox pieces is a 46hr movement by France Ebauche FE, which is made in France and displays a full balance bridge in a very symmetrical design. The difference between the two references lies in the dials. The 19.24 feature enamel dials in Midnight Blue, Ivory White, Anthracite Gray and Imperial Green, with printed railway scales to display the time. The 20.24 has grained metal dials with deeply embossed tracks, which add much depth. The latter comes in Pearl Grey or Salmon, and all are available on leather strap or metal mesh bracelet.

The circle is the starting point for all their designs, from their cases to their hands, everything is very fluid and circular. All their watches have had time displayed from a central pinion, with round hands. A very large one, which displays the seconds, a slightly smaller one that displays the minutes and a small one that displays the hours. All turning on the same axis, often overlapping and constantly forming geometric shapes that capture the imagination. Their latest creation changes things up a little.

All the Seconde Française pieces are topped with double-domed sapphire crystals and they are water-resistant to 50m. With a limited editions run of 888 pieces, this mesmerizing collection starts at €1490. Learn more at the Beaubleu Shop today.
