Grab And Go Your Next Daily Wearer with the First Release From Hz Watches

A personal project to design and build the perfect grab and go everyday watch, has now evolved into Hz Watches, the newest microbrand coming out of Australia after receiving the backing and support of the watch community.

Based in Melbourne, founder Matthew Zillmann, an avid watch collector embarked on a journey to build his own everyday watch after being unable to find anything suitable within his desired budget. Seeking an accurate, simple, and low-maintenance user experience, Matt wanted a light and wearable watch that could be dressed up when needed, but able to be worn on a daily basis with any outfit.

The HZ.01 does exactly that, through taking advantage of the synergies between titanium and quartz, enabling it to weigh in at an impressive 45 grams (including the attached leather strap and buckle). At the heart of the HZ.01, beats a Ronda Swiss Quartz 507, with a day/date function – accurate to 10/+20 seconds per month (Or in mechanical per day terms, -0.3/+0.6 seconds per day!).

Sized perfectly for everyday wear, the HZ.01 sports a 38.5mm wide, and 9.85mm thin case, with a 46mm lug to lug measurement. Not only is it sized for everyday wear, it has also been built for everyday wear, with a sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating, BGW9 superluminova, and 100M of water resistance.

The little things matter to Hz Watches. From the beautiful caseback medallion giving a subtle nod to the quartz heart, or the dial text 32,768Hz referencing the quartz frequency – each design element has been carefully thought out. One example of this is the HZ.01 packaging, which moves away from the traditional box. Each HZ.01 is delivered within a custom watch roll, color-matched to each HZ.01 colorway, providing supporters with a way to carry the HZ.01 on everyday travels, whilst also removing watch box clutter.

The HZ.01 is available for the limited time launch price of $170, and will open for orders during a 48-hour window starting on the 27th of January, 2024 at 10:00 pm Eastern Time, with deliveries commencing in April.
