Windup Watch Fair 2018: Meet the Brands Part 3

Worn & Wound’s NYC Windup Watch Fair is less than one month away, and it goes without saying, but we’ll say it anyway: we are extremely excited to kick off the 2018 show. With an even bigger vendor list than last year’s fair, Windup is geared up to be the best one yet. If you haven’t already done so, then now would be a good time for you to mark your calendars.

The 2018 NYC Windup Watch Fair will be hosted at Chelsea Market (75 9th Avenue) on November 2nd through the 4th. Hours of operation are:

Friday, November 2nd: 11:00am – 6:30pm
Saturday, November 3rd: 11:00am – 7:00pm
Sunday, November 4th: 11:00am – 7:00pm

We’ve got a killer lineup with a little bit of something for everyone. So whether you’re a long-time watch geek or a first-time watch buyer, you’re not going to want to miss this one.

Today, we’re continuing our highlight of the great vendors making this year’s show possible.

Juvo

Watch winders are either junky and cheap, or luxe and super expensive. Juvo knew there had to be a middle ground. Their line of watch winders, inspired by the aesthetics of vintage stereo speakers and high-end furniture, bridge that gap and staying reasonably priced without sacrificing quality. Juvo

Klokers

Klokers made a splash in 2015 with their slide rule-inspired KLOK-01, a unique watch that displays the time via rotating discs. They have since built on that initial release, growing an entire ecosystem of straps and accessories. These are really fun and unique timepieces, and attendees will get to check out some new colorways at this year’s show. Klokers

Laco

Laco is a storied German brand, perhaps best known for their historically-correct Flieger/pilot watches. But it’s not just pilot watches. Laco has built out a really robust catalog of interesting timepieces over the last couple of years, and we recommend checking out the brand’s hand-aged Erbstück line. Laco

Lorier

Lorier made a splash with their neo-vintage Neptune collection earlier this year (our own Christoph McNeill was really impressed with the series). This will be Lorier’s first time at Windup, and rumor has it that in addition to having the Neptune on-hand, Lorier will debut some new models at the show. Lorier

Lundis Bleus

Founded by two seasoned watchmakers, Lundis Bleus is bringing high-end watchmaking techniques and attitudes to the micro-brand niche. Case in point: they produce Japanese-enamel dials with brilliant colors, and they do it entirely in-house. Lundis Bleus

MK II

MK II is a one-man boutique brand, with proprietor Bill Yao at the helm of a meticulous operation focused on small-batch production. In addition To producing limited collections through watch forums, MK II has a Japanese-made ready-to-wear collection recreating historically important military watches, among them the Mark XI and Benrus Type 1. Martenero

A brand based out of New York, Martenero isn’t afraid of a little color. Each collection in Martenero’s catalog offers a vibrant twist on a classic design, from the Edgmere and Edgemere Reserve’s revamped marine chronometer vibe to the Kerrison’s take on a casual sports watch. Check out our podcast with founder John Tarantino here. Martenero

Melbourne

Making their way from Australia, Melbourne Watch Co. is a seasoned micro-brand founded in 2013 with their inaugural model, the Flinders. They have since grown a catalog of diverse watches ranging from dress pieces to robust divers. Melbourne Watch Co.

Mercer

Mercer Watch Co. is a small New Jersey-based company with a loyal following of fans. Focused on clean design and value, Mercer’s catalog includes a vintage-inspired chronograph dubbed the Lexington powered by a Seagull ST19 manual-wind caliber and the cushion-cased Durham. Mercer

Mido

Mido is a storied Swiss brand with a strong design language and an unbeatable catalog full of bang-for-the-buck timepieces. From the Baroncelli and Commander series to the Ocean Star line, Mido produces a wide array of styles to satisfy nearly everyone. And, it should be noted, Mido is one of the largest producers of COSC-certified watches out there. This will be Mido’s first time at Windup. Mido
