Windup Watch Fair Discussions: Studio Underd0g

One of the biggest draws at this year’s Windup Watch Fair in New York City was surely the newcomer Studio Underst0g, and founder Richard Benc. The British based brand, which launched just earlier this year, has made a big impact thanks to bold and inspired colorways applied to near perfectly executed handwound chronograph references. Richard isn’t shy about incorporating his real world interactions into his designs, and in this sit down discussion, we chat about some of the most personal among them, and what the watches they’ve helped create. Chief among them this very special Pumpkin colorway, which went on to raise over $6k for charity.

This appearance at our Windup Watch Fair marked Richard’s first time in the US, and his booth saw a steady stream of intrigued enthusiasts eager to see these big colors in the flesh. As eye catching as the colors are, there are plenty of smaller details to discover and enjoy. We chat about all of it in this sit down conversation live from the floor of the Windup Watch Fair.
